MyDawa is Providing Affordable Medical and Wellness Products for Kenyans

MyDawa’s mission is to deliver quality, affordable products and experiences that enable their customers live a positive and healthy lifestyle.

It was founded by Neil O’ Leary in 2017 with the main aim of allowing people to buy a wide range of high-quality medication and wellness products affordably and conveniently from their mobile phones.

Within 4 months of its launching, MyDawa’s android app was able to garner 10,000 downloads on Playstore and the startup continues to increase in its expansion.

The platform is basically an e-commerce app for medical products. It claims to have over 1,000 products in stock ranging from prescription medicine, over the counter medicine and wellness products such as multivitamins and supplements.

MyDawa guarantees that it stocks only genuine products and that each product is secured with a unique tamper-evident seal that allows customers to verify the authenticity of the products.

Among the most popularly purchased products on the app are antibiotics, baby products and face care cosmetics. Their purchasing method involves users signing up on the platform, browse the catalog, add items to their cart and checkout via M-Pesa.

The delivery process is also quite swift, as the purchased items are being delivered to purchaser’s preferred collection point and is also free because the service is currently only in Nairobi.

Other features on the platform includes: ability of users to validate the authenticity of the product purchased through the app and also to upload prescription to get medicine through the app.

MyDawa aims to reach a wide range of users in Kenya and subsequently across Africa.
