Meet Rajiv Mehta, The Gamechanger of Outdoor Advertising in Kenya

The above fact has helped Rajiv Mehta to pursue his dream of outdoor advertisement. Rajiv is the founder of Tangerine investment, an outdoor advertising firm that uses public transit vehicles, litter bins and street poles to market leading consumer goods in Kenya.The multi million dollar company was founded in 2008 and its client base consists of local businesses in Kenya and multinational companies like Coca Cola, HP, Kenya Airways, Subway among others. The company had an annual income of over one million dollars as at 2017.

Rajiv started his entrepreneurship journey in 2008 by importing liquid tyre sealants from China. He was selling to local business owners in Kenya but despite the challenges from both the business and his personal job, he decided to take a risk by quitting his job and investing in the advertising sector.
However, Mehta did not just develop interest in his line of work recently, he has always had an interest in advertising since he was young “I have always had an interest in advertising and always thought I would one day have my own brand on a billboard.“ He said.
Despite the many challenges that he encountered from securing clients, funds and even securing spots, Rajiv went on to establish a successful advertising company which has over the years extended into other businesses like large format printing. His company has also branched to other sectors like e-commerce, healthcare among others.
Rajiv has been recognized by Forbes as one of the fast rising African young entrepreneurs that are setting the pace and he has this to say to other young aspiring entrepreneurs “Never be scared to take a risk if you know you can make an idea work and give it the best you can.
