Jean Bosco is Providing Eco-Friendly Fertilizers and Briquettes in Rwanda

Jean Bosco Nzeyimana is a Clean Energy Expert and the founder of Habona Ltd, a Rwandan company that produces eco-friendly fertilizers, biogas, and biomass briquettes.

Growing up in his village, Jean Bosco was no stranger to the hardships that characterised rural life. Hence, he began his quest to give the locals a chance at a better life. He started his business by making charcoal briquettes for elderly people without caregivers.

Jean Bosco holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Rwanda has been a business coach to a number of entrepreneurs and continues to be a source of inspiration to Ugandan youths “I believe that everyone who has eyes can see an opportunity; the issue is how fast you are in the race to grab the opportunity. The formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur is identifying and making use of the opportunity. Dedication and passion are also requisite,” he said

Nzeyimana won the National YouthConnekt Young Innovator award in 2014 and bagged the coveted prize of Rwf 3 million (US$4,160) and also 2013 African Innovation Prize winner.

Jean has a number of remarkable prizes to his name, including the African Innovation and the India-Africa Young Visionary prizes. He was selected as the 2015 Mandela Washington Fellow through the flagship program of the President Obama for Young African Leaders.
