Ajayi Oluwatobi is Setting the Pace for Nigeria’s Automobile Sector
Ajayi Oluwatobi is the Founder of Nord Automobiles Limited, a leading Nigerian automobile brands and also the co-founder of Jetvan Automobiles Limited, an authorized dealer of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Ajayi resigned his position as CEO of Jetvan in 2018 in order to focus on building the Nord brand and company structure.
He started his career at Mercedes-Benz Nigeria growing very fast to become the head of division (vans) at the age of 24; where he developed strategies to increase the market share of Mercedes-Benz vans in Nigeria.
After a trip to Mercedes-Benz factories in Europe and Asia. He held a strong opinion that Nigeria can build its own global and reliable auto brand. He believes that Africans can also compete at the world-class level.
His brand now assembles custom-made, elegant, reliable, durable, and cost-efficient vehicles that are as good as any vehicle in the world.
In 2016, to recognize his contribution to the auto industry, he was nominated for the CEO of the year at the Nigeria Auto Journalist Awards (NAJA), Jetvan won the award for the New Entrant of the year.
Oluwatobi is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration. He was listed by Forbes as one of the most promising young entrepreneurs in Africa for 2018.
Oluwatobi is among the most influential people in the Nigerian Auto Industry. He hopes that his establishment would champion the use of electric vehicles in Nigeria with the building of their own designated charging structure with a wide network nationwide.
