HostelMate is Enabling Ghanaian Students Find and Book for Accommodation

For University students in Ghana, resuming every academic year comes with a lot of challenge, and the most challenging of all is getting a place to stay as a result of limited accommodation provided by the government. For private properties available for rent, they most times don’t know where to find them, so securing accommodation takes days and even months of search.

But HostelMate wants to make it easy.

The platform is a hostel listing and booking with a mission to eliminate all unnecessary stress that students and other potential customers go through in the search of the most appropriate accommodation for themselves and also give property owners a pool of potential customers.

HostelMate was Founded in May 2017 by Ebenezer Ghanney, a 400level accounting student of University of a Professional Studies, Accra. According to him, “HostelMate seeks to solve accommodation challenges students in Ghana face by providing an online platform where they can locate, book and make payment for their off-campus accommodation from anywhere in the country.

To use the platform, students simply search for available hostel, book their preferred one and make payment. Property owners, real estate agents are also able to list, market and advertise their properties for free.

HostelMate has a vision to become a global leader in the delivering of world class accommodation rental service, and with its very valuable solution that caters to millions of Ghanaians, it has the potential of achieving that.
