Caketunes is Promoting Artistes and Producers in Africa

Every music artiste wants to be heard. For him to make a break in the world of music, his work requires adequate distribution. He needs the right producer and a good beat. All this takes time, dedication and a certain amount of finance, and are not easy to find in one place.

Caketunes wants to be that one stop platform for African artistes and producers.

The startup is an online African music distribution and production platform for artistes and music producers. It carries out beat distribution, music sharing and music production. Though  based in Nigeria, Caketunes offers its services to the African market.

Through the platform, new and existing producers can find and upload beats and meet upcoming artistes. Beats are uploaded within 48-72 hours after it has been approved. Artistes are also able to find beat for their next song. They can sort out beats and have similar ones delivered to them through an advanced algorithm on the platform that auto detects their taste. Caketunes also offers custom beats, mixing and mastering songs as well as songwriting.

All of these services comes at an affordable price of N10,000, which according to the founders, is about $28 compared to the higher cost on other platforms. Artistes get 30% for every sale of beats on the platform, and also get 50% when they get a production contract and are matched with qualified producers.

Caketunes was launched by Ability Elijah and Light Nduka. According to the founders, the startup consists of a team of dedicated artiste, producers and software engineers, and therefore they understand what it means to be artistes/producers participating in the African music space. They have an aim to help new artistes and most importantly showcase African music.
